Best site for photo storage?

Post by PaminMaine »

Hello forum peeps!!

I would like to load some of my photos online so that I can share them here, etc.

What program do you all like best? Flickr, photobucket, snapfish, shutterfly ........

Thanks for your opinions!

I have had a paid Flickr acct for many years and I think it is the best 25 bucks I spend each year. It is pretty easy to use and there are apps for many different platforms.
Leap, and the net will appear.

I have tried Tinypic, and Google's Picasa. Picasa is my usual choice. It has easy editing features, links to post various sizes of photos. You can create public and private albums, too. Tinypic has been useful to post one photo for a forum I use seldom. Google continues to improve Picasa. Plus, it's free.

Oh, I have picasa.. I did some great edits on my recent trip with that program. I just downloaded it, but I guess I have yet to really understand how it works. I will have to do some more research on how to use the online portion. I thought it was a bit difficult , but I have not spent a whole lot of time with the program.

If all you want to do is share them here, most of the things you mention should be fine.

I have had a flickr account for forever - I think it is pretty good. And I think Yahoo is getting better with the new CEO and the products will continue to get better.

For some reason, I am really averse to giving Google any additional access to any of my life - they way they are forcing people into Google+ is really turning me off. I don't think most people realize just how intrusive they are, how they track your data, and what they do with it.

The new one that people are raving about and I seriously want to try when I get a chance is https://www.everpix.com - it not only stores all your photos, but is supposed to have a lot of cool automated features that help you organize them, etc.

All that being said, if you take a ton of photos, I don't think you can beat local storage with a dedicated back up too!
