Advice requested from any Coco"nuts"

Post by sailorgirl »

Good Morning Fourumites,

After a five year hiatus it's looks like we are returning to STJ!

I've been dying to revisit Coconuts but this trip will include two college age kids during summer vacation. Does anyone have experience with the AC in the loft bedroom. When we stayed in the house in August 2005 the great room was very hot. I want my newbie guests to be comfortable.

Is 16 months too soon to start a ticker?

Thanks

First and most importantly, it's never too soon to start a ticker!!

The a/c in the loft is new. I was there over Christmas and the loft did not have a/c. My two teenaged sons stayed up there and it was fine. They never complained of being hot. I did not turn the a/c on at all during my stay, but again it was December/January.

Well, a wee bit. We just finished installing two whisper-quiet split A/C air handlers in the loft two weeks ago, each adjacent to the beds (one queen and one twin). The twin will have been new since you were there, along with a few other things :D . The new billiard porch also prevents afternoon sun from reaching the great room, significantly reducing the heat load there. You should be all set.

We've prepared some really great collateral info on Coconuts, and I would be happy to send it along to you. PM me with your email address if you are interested.
