Really enjoyed your on-island play-by-play! Thanks for sharing.
Where did y'all rent the Stand Up Paddleboards? Do you mind sharing the rental info? Length of time, cost, etc.
STILL haven't made it to Tourist Trap. I think this year is THE YEAR.

Thanks for taking the time to post the report - always enjoy reading them! Did you stay at John Jordan's unit in Grande Bay? Just wondering since Laurie manages it for him, he has a 1 bedroom and studio that can connect to make a 2 bedroom. Laurie is fantastic, and so is John. Thanks for posting and welcome back to reality!
Oh and so sorry about the Elite Eight for Indiana. We are always pulling for the Big Ten Teams, even Michigan...ugh! Go Buckeyes! :D
May you always have a shell in your pocket and sand in your shoes...
If I could just figure out the damn ticker...St. John Vacation June 20-July 5, 2014!

We rented from Water Base Big Planet in Warfside village. It was $50 per day. There is a steep depostit for each board that was credited back to our card the day we returned them. It think it was $500 per board. They are open at 10:00 but you can make araingments to pick them up sooner. They were inflatable so they were easy to transport. It takes about 10 minutes to pump up. we would definitly do it again and rent from them. The boards were much nicer than what we saw others using on the island. They have bungy cords so you can slip your paddle under when you are out floating in the bay and just relax. At Maho there were no waves so we didn't strap the boards to our ankles but we used the cords to strap each board together and just float out in the bay.
It may have been the most fun we had all week.

The Tourist Trap was fun and we were glad we made the trip out their.

Dee,

We did rent from John. It was a life saver because we had decided to come to St. John so late we had trouble fining a villa that was available and had found one that was available for our entire week except for the last day of our trip. If it wasn't for him renting to us we may have been sleeping in the park. The unit was great. We had both units. I enjoyed the kayak. I took it out for an hour the morning of our departure.
Laurie was great. Very accomidating to us. She let us check in early and take towels and chairs so we could enjoy our last full day.
