Also, I forgot to mention, it isn't just a high season thing, as far as them patrolling the lounge chairs. In early December we witnessed a full on battle of wills between a non-guest on a lounge chair (on the main beach) and the staff member. That man was NOT going to move. It was entertaining and went on for a good 10 minutes. In the end the staff member stood her ground and the couple promptly left.

The east side of that Turtle Bay trail can be mighty nice at dawn too...

Thany you for the nice report!I never miss any of yours.You warmed up my 19 degree day.Caneel did not let me walk the Turtle Bay Trail,back in 2011.Has that changed?

Hi parafins, I am pretty sure that Caneel is still restricting access to the trail to resort guests only. I remember reading some controversy about it a while back as it used to be open to the public until a few years ago. I am not sure exactly why access is now restricted, but my best guess is because of potential liability reasons.
