The fun of meeting a longtime "forum name"
The fun of meeting a longtime "forum name"
I've long been an admirer of Liamsaunt's recipes and her gorgeous photography--of both underwater sea life, and her cooking. Voila, finally I meet her here at Caneel, where she's got a very impressive-looking camera, and is taking photos that I am sure she will soon be sharing on this forum.
My husband, who is not online at all, did not understand how I recognized her as we walked along a path near the beach.

I met Luvinsun on the beach near High Tide last year. I walked up to her like a complete stalker, like she was a celebrity! Lol! My husband thought I was nuts but it was so nice to finally meet a fellow forumite in person!

Isn't that fun? Good for you! Blaine is used to me "knowing" people I've never actually met before.

Meeting CTBeachGirl was a hoot. My husband and I were walking down to the Beach Bar to listen to some music and have dinner, and this girl is looking at me as we are walking.. I think she said something like "I know you..." My husband just looked at her, it was so funny, and I thought to my self.. Wow! No one ever recognizes me!" If i hadn't been so tired that day, I would have gotten Jenn's phone number and hooked up with her again... We had been on an all day excursion... I only thought about it afterwards... It was really fun to meet a fellow forumite!

Re: The fun of meeting a longtime "forum name"
I'm pretty new to this forum, but when we stopped for lunch at the tourist trap, I had to meet Cheryl! She posts all those beautiful sunrises and she pointed out where she takes them. That was very cool...and my husband and brother in law loved the trap dog (hot dog, pulled pork, and coleslaw)...in coral bay with a beer, what more could a guy ask for

When I talk about info or food porn or jokes or pictures and tell folks that I got the info from one of my St John friends, they think I'm crazy to be talking to people "down there" all the time. Like''one of my St John friends said....." and then someone asked' how often do you go that you have so many friends there?' LOL.

It was so nice to finally meet you in person, Maryanne! I hope you enjoyed your first stay at Caneel Bay (and that you are glad that you decided to extend your visit!). Safe travels home today.

Loved meeting loria and her family! We had so much fun with them and it was great that our kids' ages lined up. Still hoping to sync up another trip with you Lori!
Would love to meet any forumites who are down for 8 Tuff. The Forum tee shirt is too hot for me to run in... any ideas of how to id each other? (We won't know bib numbers until we're on island.)

Knolmon,
You are some fantastic woman. Wish I had all your energy. We are two of the old "forum" crowd and I'm happy to call you my "forum" friend. Have a great trip and say hello to that wonderful husband of yours. Sorry we won't be on island at the same time.

Thanks Marie. Really hoping to get down in August. I have a big birthday this year, so you never know. May be able to twist Rich 's arm. We are going for Carrnival with daughter, S'IL and the 2 babies. Won't that be fun.
