New to St. John, a few questions.
New to St. John, a few questions.
My family and I just arrived last night (thank you to TS Raphael for steering clear of the island) and we have a few questions:
1) Where is the best place to rent snorkeling gear?
2) Is there a place you can rent fishing gear (fighing rod, tackle, etc..)?
3) My wife loves a good breakfast--any suggestions? She has mentioned a place called the Donkey Diner--does anyone know if it is open now?
4) Why do they drive on the wrong side of the road?! ( ) This caught me off guard and is really strange to adapt to!
We are staying in a villa right above Dever Bay and the view is extraordinary--we are grateful to be here and looking forward to a fantastic week! Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome
Low Key for snorkel gear
Fishing gear used to be available at Ocean Runners but do know NO fishing from, or on, any beach - pretty much only by wading into the water at the flats at Leinster Bay
Donkey Diner is not open yet - due to open around October 22nd
Enjoy

Oh my, you must be pretty disoriented, if you didn't even know about driving on the left! Welcome to the forum!
Here's a link with restaurants that are open/closed:
http://stjohnspice.com/stjohnrestaurants.htm
Jake's and JJ's Texas Coast are mentioned often as having breakfast.
To find Low Key watersports, go to the waterfront at the ferry dock and turn left, following the water. After you pass the big shopping complex, you'll find Low Key on your left.
Happy vacation!

Thank you Pia! So no fishing in Devers Bay? If that's the case there is no need for the gear.
We will head to Low Key (assuming they are open on Sunday).
Thanks again!

I second JJ's for breakfast...and once you get used to driving on the left...it makes perfect sense..just seems easier to us...btw..I hope you enjoy your stay and post pics...Welcome to the Forum..btw...

We liked Crabby's on Coral Bay. He was very helpful in the snorkeling department. Nice shop's nearby for other shopping and food too.
Don't sweat the small stuff!

You can fish in Devers Bay. What villa are you in? I'll be staying at Island Time soon.
