Trip Report - Day 7 (October 8, 2012)
Trip Report - Day 7 (October 8, 2012)
Morning all, if you have been following my daily trip reports, thank you, we are nearing the end. If you are just joining us, it has been one heck of a trip. We are two days out from departing the island which makes my lip stick out a little in a girlish pout. But, I firmly believe that good things come to those who wait. 5 more years till retirement. I can do this!
We opted for more hiking, snorkeling, and swimming today so get ready for the ride. Hopped in the jeep and headed through the traffic circle in Cruz Bay and out past Mongoose Junction. Destination Peace Hill. Great little hike, less than 10 minutes, with views, views, views.

It was a hot day, so we entered the woods on the way back down, turning left onto a trail that leads to Denis Beach. Again, a nice trail, easy to walk, and not that long. You come out and are greated with a rock and sand beach.

The surf was rough, to rough for snorkeling so we headed back up the trail and to the Jeep. Off to Hawksnest. Not crowded, and delightfully beautiful. We snorkled off to the right, around into the private portion of Hawksnest.

Another great beach day. Once afternoon hit we headed back into town and stopped at Joe's to get some ribs and chicken. We had not gotten food there yet and we were not disappointed. While we waited for our food, we walked the left to the little smoothie shack that is colored in purple. We picked up two smoothies and some banana bread for breakfast. Back to the villa, we had a date at 4 pm with Absolute Serenity.
On the way back to the villa, we drove out to Dietliff Point, about 5 or 6 houses are built there now. The gate has been taken down allowing access. Beautiful views of Fish Bay.

What a way to relax after a day of hiking and swimming, Krysta and Cheryl came to the villa from Absolute Serenity. I had arranged a couples massage for me and the hubby. They were fantastic. 90 minutes later we were jello.
We enjoyed the bbq from Joe's, a few beers, and the stars. The couch seemed extra comfortable this evening. Husband stayed up to watch the jets game, while I snoozed.
Yep, this is the life for me. The life of Riley.
