Trip Report - Day 5 (August 8, 2012)
Up at 6:15am. Decided not to get up, and slept til 7:45-ish. At 8am, we headed to Donkey Diner, one of our FAVES! I enjoyed the Donkey Mess, which had andouille and brisket; an everything bagel; coffee; and D had juice and the sampler. $30 before tip.
Home at 9:15. Relaxed with our tummies full. I checked work emails.
It was SO overcast today, so we went into town around 12:30pm. We did a tour of Grande Bay, as we were considering a time share. (No - we didn't buy one ... this year.)
We were hungry afterwards, so around 2:30, we headed to Banana Deck. We enjoyed conch fritters (some of our fave on island), 1 funky monkey, 1 dirty banana, 2 bottles of water = $30 before tip.

We got gas......

...then headed to Catherineberg.

We may or may not have discovered a genip tree at Catherineberg.....

We stopped at a look out on the way back....still SUPER overcast.

Back at Sail View around 3:40ish.

Since we just split 5 conch fritters for lunch, we were hungry, so we headed to Skinny Legs around 4:15ish. Happy hour!! $1 off drinks. Who knew?! We didn't. But I'm glad we found out! We enjoyed guava rum punch (drink special of the day); coconut lime swizzles (2), 1 Coors, 2 blue cheese burgers, 2 blue cheese dressings, a chocolate chip cookie (EILEEN'S!!), and a slice of key lime pie....all for $51 before tip. WINNING!

We were thoroughly entertained at Skinny's. A guy had a wee bit too much happy in his hour, and hit on our poor waitress like something crazy. He invited her back to swim at his pool...at the Westin.
He then proceeded to announce, "Anyone need a ride back to Coral Bay?" Someone shouted, "You're IN Coral Bay!!!!"
Good times indeed.
Back to Sail View around 5:30. We took pictures of Mike and Eileen's gorgeous flowers.

We had our showers by 6 and relaxed the rest of the evening.
Enjoyed my leftover Skinny's key lime pie....

In bed by 8:45!

Are you USC alumni? They recruited my son and offered him a full ride for football. He didn't want to go that far away. His recruiter was the QB coach that was arrested at 2am for public urination last year! Glad to see they are doing well this year after the train wreck of a QB they had last year.

Yes - USC - undergrad and grad. #6 in the nation right now!
Grande Bay - studio was under $10k for off season, 1 bedroom was $15k for off season. (I think that's about right.)
