Suggestions for Place to Stay

Post by mrscherry2000 »

We're heading down February 2-9, my husband and my second time and another couples FIRST!

We're looking for a 2 BR with a pool on the Coral Bay side or up on the mountain with a view. We have a budget of $3000 for the week.

Leaning toward Rhumb Runners since that seems perfect but just wondering if there are other options?

I would also recommend Drakes Lookout. I just looked up price which is $3450, not sure how definite your budget is. My family stayed there a couple of years ago and found it to be beautiful, great views, comfortable and private from surrounding homes. (I am not an owner :D )

In February I think Fun and Contentment would be fine...it is half way up the mountain in Coral Bay. It is much further up than Sea Biscuit, Bayhouse, or Rhumb Runners.

We stayed in June. had problems with windows not opening...but AC in bedrooms which should be fine in February...

for pictures look at this link...well can't find it by using search feature...have to leave for work...will try to find at lunch....

i have a trip report villa review with pictures somewhere!!!

Aw nuts! My friends just bailed. Now that puts a damper on our budget. Now I'm looking for a 1BR for $2500 ish with a pool or hot tub.

I don't know how many dollars "ish" equals, but I've always liked the look of Island Dreams at $195 over your budget. http://www.bookitvi.com/dreams.html

Never have seen it in person though.

Are your dates set in stone? If they are not Angels Roost Upper Carolina is open from Feb 5th on. It is a one bedroom apartment below owners with large wrap around deck, No pool but never missed that. Cost 1400 per week.

I haven't stayed here, but it is in your price range and open for your dates.

When we had considered it, it didn't have any AC, but I see it has AC in the bedroom now.

Take a look at Satinwood on Upper Carolina. It's a special spot. Wonderful view and pool. Very comfortable house. Good luck in your search!
