Tropical Wave

Post by STTlover »

Hi there. I've got two friends down there now scheduled to head out on a boat trip tomorrow. I know there is a tropical wave hitting the islands today. Can someone local, (maybe on of our fine boat capts), let me know if it's supposed to last through the day tomorrow? NOAA says it could, but from the looks of the satellite it looks like it may pass today/night. I just want to let them know if they should reschedule their boat trip for another day next week. TIA!!!

It depends on what company they are with as to whether they are allowed to cancel or not. The larger companies - Bad Kitty, Breakaway, Calypso etc all went out today and they do have a 48 hour cancellation policy so it would be best for them to call the company first. Some (not all) of the smaller 6 pack boats do allow for you to cancel or reschedule

As far as the wave goes all indicators show it to be here through Friday and possibly the weekend but you never can tell.

They are going out on breakaway. It was a wedding gift from me to them. I'll give them a call and see what they want to do. Thanks!

I don't see anything major on the NHC site - but this page details tropical waves:

And you can see something on the radar here:
