Nice photos. Venice really looks good in the B&W photos you are posting too. We considered it on last years trip to northern Italy but Cinque Terre won out and it would've been too much to do both PLUS give the Tuscan countryside its due. I've also seen the negative stories of Venice other times of the year but it looks like the time you went lends itself to a more delightful experience. Glad we did Cinque Terre though because they got devastated by flash floods in the fall - will take a long time to fully recover.

The Greek Isles were on our very short list but Greece is such a mess now the only way to attempt it may be via the way you did = cruise. However, we are not cruise people.

PS very cool shot of the Swiss Alps. That is someplace we really HAVE to get back to....I wrote about it here in 2007 (!)

Can't believe I have had the good fortune to garner information here on two of the great cities, Paris and Venice, that we will be visiting in October. We have never been to Paris and the information posted on the forum has been invaluable to our planning. Now the pictures you have posted of Venice, where we spent two days last year after our cruise, is making it very difficult for me to wait until October to get there. We took a lot of pics last year in Venice, where we stayed for two days during the cruise, but few are as beautiful as yours. We will also be visiting Corfu on our Celebrity cruise, and maybe someday we will meet each other in Santorini.
Thanks to everyone for all the info. Now maybe someone will post about a trip to Rome. Too good to be true.

Another take on travel to Greece in light of the current situation there:
