Live from Ram Head

Post by TrvlJohn »

Got up early and hiked Ram Head. It is an amazing place. So different from the rest of the island.

Going to pick up thing one (25 yo daughter) at the ferry later. Her first trip. I know she will love it.

This hike is on this year's list. Is it an easy hike? How long does it take?

Thanks for sharing the LIVE pix!

It is not a hard hike but it can be a hot hike. Additionally, the weather changes quickly. Right after I posted this morning it started pouring and the wind was blowing something fierce.

It is a hike for someone who enjoys hiking. I would also not bring young children on the hike. Lots of cactus right next to the trail and places they could fall if they weren't careful

Thanks for the info, TrvlJohn.

We will go either SUPER early in the morning or SUPER late in the day / evening. And we'll bring plenty of water.

No kids for us, so we're good from that perspective! Although, my husband slipped and fell on the slippery shells / rocks (?!?) at the "secret beach," so I may have to watch him like a child!

I really don't mean to scare anybody off but the entire trip is in the sun and it can get very hot out there.

I thought all wives were supposed to treat their husbands like children... 8)

TrvlJohn... I think you should stay there indefinitely. Just don't come home. Your daily "live" reports are so enjoyable. I love Ram Head in the evening. I'd like to be there now!

I would love to stay indefinitely...unfortunately, sometime soon I am going to have to go back to the grind to start saving for the next trip.

Glad you enjoy the daily updates.

We love that hike. our last trip was during the full moon, so we hiked out late to catch the sunset and watch the moonrise. Temp was perfect. Moon was obscured by clouds so that was a bust, but we hiked back by flashlight and little headlamps.
