Day three - Cruz Bay

Post by michigan girls »

Having taken in lots of sun and sand the previous two days, and planning on an all day snorkel charter tomorrow we decided to give our skin a break from the beach today. Met Pia this morning - what a great lady! After that we headed into Cruz Bay. Started the day off at Baked in the Sun. We split a Turkey Aoili sandwich which was so amazingly good, their fresh bread was to die for. Finished up with a shared lemon bar -yummy! Walked down to mongoose junction, where I fell in love with the cutest wrap skirt at Bamboula. Over to Warfside Village where we took advantage of the air conditioning and blew some cash on the machines at the Parrot Club. We didn't win, but it was a good time anyway. Had drinks at High Tide. More shopping (and another wrap skirt - I'm outta control with those!), then back up the hill to the Jeep. Stopped in at ACC to visit the dogs and drop off some treats - wish I could take them all home! Back over to Coral Bay for dinner at Aqua Bistro. Were glad we chose to sit at the bar, as there was quite a downpour for awhile. Had their famous Ponzu Tuna, which totally lived up to the hype. Sherry had the buffalo grouper sandwich which was also really good. We intended to have just a drink at the bar before heading back to the cabana, but ran into the most fun group of frenchmen from a french merchant navy vessel, so we ending up talking to them for a good long time and enjoying more super yummy cocktails. Got to dust off my rusty french, I'm always amazed that I still remember it, so that was good. Going to bed early tonight to prepare for the all day charter with Island Roots tomorrow!

Love Bamboula! My most favorite St. John treasures (other than memories and dreams) came from that store.
Have fun! Looking forward to the report.

Will have to check out Bamboula. I'm not much of a shopper, but sounds interesting. Glad you girls are having a great time!!!
Jayseadee (sp?) I might guess that you're a shoppaholic?

Minde, I'm not a huge shopper, and I will admit that most of Mongoose Junction was a disappointment for me, but Bamboula has some really cool stuff - just my style.

Overall though, I did prefer the shops in Wharfside Village - no so "cruise-shippy"
