Early flight into St. Thomas - taxi availability?

Post by zamboni27 »

Just booked airfare for our 6th trip back to the rock! Woo hoo!

We're doing things a little different this year - we usually arrive at St. Thomas mid to late afternoon and grab the first available taxi to the ferry. There's usually many waiting and ready to go. This year though, we're taking an overnight flight which has us scheduled to arrive at St. Thomas at 6:55am.

My question is, does anyone know if there are taxi drivers at the airport that early in the morning that would take us to the ferry? Or do you think we should book with a private service (Rachel?) instead?

Thanks for the info!

If a flight is scheduled on any major airline there will be taxis available - - the airport is modestly active by 7am and I would believe there will be taxis waiting there .

I agree there will be taxis if there is an incoming flight.

Zamboni - which airline and where are you flying out of? I am also in PA and that arrival time interests me.

Exit&Pia - Thanks!
PA Girl - we're flying from BWI on a combination of JetBlue and American Airlines. You can also book using just AA, but their flight left BWI at 5:00pm. The JetBlue leaves around 8:00pm. Means I don't have to take an extra vaction day, plus I'd rather sleep on the plane. We're excited - getting to St. John early morning instead of late afternoon? It's like a bonus day!
