Looking forward to see coral reefs and colourful fish again
Just want to tell that I’m really looking forward to our first vacation outside Europe since we were
on Virgin Islands, which mean that we again will have the possibility to snorkel and see coral reef and colourfull fish. We leave 16. March and will go home again 30. March.
Actually we have talked about going to USA this year. But in October last year I was not using my
brain properly, when I worked in the garden. I felt down from a wall, with the result that I got a
fracture of a vertebra and hurt my shoulder. I still have some pain both in my back and in my shoulder, so I don’t want to sit too long in a flight or in a car. So USA must wait.
Instead we are going to Dubai and Oman. It only takes rather more than 6 hours to fly from Hamburg to Dubai with the Emirates and about 1 hour to fly from Dubai to Oman.
I have used a lot of time to plan the trip, in Dubai there is at lot of exiting buildings to see.
We are going to visit the highest building in the world, the highest hotel in the world,
malls where you can go skiing, artifical islands made as a palm etc..
But most days we will be in Oman because of the many nature expirences the country has to offer - including boat trips with snorkel experiences.
As usual I’m also a little nervous about the vacation. So many things can go wrong.
So I cross my fingers!

Crossing my fingers for you and wishing that all will go very comfortably and smoothly for your trip; it sounds very interesting. I find Dubai rather fascinating and I will be looking forward to your nature photos too!
I am sorry to hear about your fall, and I hope that you will soon be pain free and completely healed.

... no longer a stranger to paradise
Hi Linne, I am sorry to hear that you hurt yourself! Please post here about your snorkeling adventures in Oman when you are back from the trip, I am very interested to hear about the types of sealife that you will see.
Believe it or not, Dubai doesn't have the tallest hotel in the world anymore! The tallest hotel is now in Hong Kong--it's the Ritz Carlton Kowloon and it is 118 stories tall! The hotel is actually only on floors 102-118, the rest of the building is offices and apartments. My boss was there last month for a series of meetings and he said it is very impressive indeed.
Have a wonderful trip!

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
