Nervous about my trip forecast

Post by LSU Beach Tiger »

I am freaking out about the forecast for my trip next week, May 7th-14th. Rain everyday, please forum friends keep your fingers crossed that my vacation will be beautiful & sunny--I don't want to be stuck in my villa the whole trip. :(

It rained pretty much all week while we were there and we still had a great time. There are always the bars!

If the forecasters are accurate (and you know that's a big if) then you can look forward to beautifully fresh plants, flowers, and trees, and enforced beach breaks where you'll have to drink, nap, or both!

Wish I was worried about STJ weather that soon...

Not to worry. We had some monumental rains and there was really only 1 day when we had no beach time at all. Relax and enjoy, knowing there is nothing you can do about it.

Honestly, the forecast for the virgin islands shows rain just about everyday. Even with great weather there are passing showers almost everyday. I fretted about the same thing on my first trip 4 years ago. The weather was beautiful for the 15 days we were there.

I think that there was a thread about what to do on a
rainy day.
We went to the Florida Keys for our honeymoon in September of 1985. It rained 13 out of 14 days. I looked back at pictures and we still went snorkeling a lot and had a great time.
At least it isn't hurricane season so you will probably be fine. Sometimes it is better to not look at the forecast. :)

It rained a lot on our first trip to STJ as well -- May of 2001. Honestly, it was just fine. Maybe because I didn't know any different. We had a couple of competely washed out days but most of the days were a little rainy and then cleared up. The only part taht was a drag was that all the rain made the diving for my hubby a little crappy, but it surely didn't ruin our trip.

I would bet its going to be nice more than rainy & if its not, I bet you'll still have a good time.

It rained for 5 minutes twice today. Seriously, no worries.

Always sun somewhere

If it's raining where you are, jump in the care and just drive to another side of the island. We were there the last 11 days and had rain about 6 days out of the 11. But just cause it's raining in Cruz Bay, doesn't mean the sun isn't out in Coral. We found that true just about every time. Helps to have the rental car for all week too! AND we saw waterfalls in the guts...pretty cool!
If you don't take risks, you'll have a wasted soul.

Don't worry LSU. A rainy day in paradise is better than a sunny day in BR! You'll have a great time! Please take pics of the gatehouse. Hubby and I are thinking of staying there in the future. We're wondering how much privacy there is. Let us know! Have fun!

5 minutes TWICE in one day! ARE YOU OK? I mean that's 10 whole minutes. I would ask for a refund. Or an extension, whichever you prefer :)
