Do you think the State of Vermont should amend the state seal to keep the pig on the cow in the state seal?

Yes! It's really funny and quirky!

Pig Decals on Police Cars to Help Vermont Flood Victims

Post by Cid »

Hey Forumites!!

I'm not sure if you've heard the story of inmates hiding a pig shape on a cow as one of the spots on a cow. The cow was part of the State Seal decal that was destined for State Police cruisers. Here's the local tv coverage as of today:

http://www.wcax.com/story/16948395/police-close

I started a Facebook group,

http://www.facebook.com/SaveTheVermontPigs

to get the Governor to lighten up and use the decals to raise money for flood relief from Hurricane Irene. Yes, we got slammed by torrential rain all the way up in VT!! My group is now up to 1382 fans and we have 576 signatures on our online petition. I'm in the process of coordinating a relief concert with local musicians and Vermont celebrities and we'll be coordinating our fund raising efforts with other local programs. It would be great if my VIOL friends could help me out and "like" us on Facebook and/or sign our petition.

The more people we reach, the more successful we will be in turning this whole pig incident into a win/win for everyone!

Thanks everyone,

Cid

SAVE THE PIG!
Thanks Cid. Petition signed. Our state needs lots of help. The floods hit a month before foliage season. The ski season is limping along. The perception that we have no snow doesn't help at all. (OK, it's not really all perception, but even if the snow is a little thin on the ground, my local ski area - Sugarbush - has 100% of their terrain open.) Room & Meals taxes are way down. We still have businesses in our village that have not been able to re-open since the floods.
Keep us posted on any fundraising concerts. I'll pop across the hill to come support it. You know what? Now that Kenny Chesney and local girl Grace Potter are friends, maybe Kenny would do something. I know Grace had a very successful acoustic concert here in the valley in September to help out.

I am in the process of reaching out to local and national artists and celebrities with Vermont ties. I'm working on an A-list and Grace is most definitely on it. I hadn't really considered Kenny, but that would just blow this thing wide open. Any of my VIOL friends have any good connections to Kenny's people? That would be so amazing! Please, I am open to any other ideas or suggestions. So let 'em rip...... :) I'll be sure to keep you posted on any new developments!

Thanks,

Cid

Cid, were you on TV tonight? I was getting my mani-pedi  around noon today and the TV was on in the nail place. They seemed to be previewing something for later today. They showed your Facebook page, and then I think they showed you. Having never met you, I'm not 100% sure it was you. But, none-the-less, I thought "hey that's Cid the forumite." I'll double check the videos on the WPTZ website to see if I can find it, as I was unfortunately at work until 8:30pm, so missed the evening news.
