Patr...South Shore Villa is a bit pricier than Lost Horizon, but I definitely think it's a good value. About the outdoor furniture...the photos show two upright straight (uncomfortable-looking) benches on the front overlooking the pool, one table for 4 with metal chairs, and two wicker chairs. Now, there may be more (there are definitely pool lounges below), but I spent a whole lot of time on my veranda last year, and I want it to be really comfortable. This isn't a deal killer, but it appears to be a disadvantage, that's all.

Flip-Flop...oh, my, I do that price per couple thing, too! (And some other columns, but I was trying to hide the depth of my OCD tendencies!) And a pool is a sine qua non, as is A/C in the bedrooms at least. And it's more important as I get *cough* older.

Jim...the distance to Fish Bay is a nuisance, but we were in Point Rendezvous last time, so it's not much farther. I'd love to see your Monte Bay photos, though. I'll send you a pm with my e-mail, and many thanks for all the help you've been.

Jorge...Man, you don't know how much you were in my thoughts the last few weeks. Glad to hear you've made it to this point, and I know the trip to STJ couldn't come at a better time. I'm going to make it up to Blacksburg soon, and I can't wait to talk to you. Hope you have a great trip...

We are renting Sol Inclination for our trip in November. Traveling with two other couples who have certain prereqisites such as A/C, 2 king beds, a bathtub and a hot tub in addition. The hot tub is a recently added requirement. SI is at the very top of Fish Bay, in Skytop. If you look at the Bongo boys video of Croix Vista on their luxury villas website, you will see SI as they pan up the side of the mountain to the top, over Croix Vista. The road to the house is paved, except for one or two stretches of dirt. I dont know what the poster was referring to when she asked about SSV, but I dont think there are any other houses up there with SI.
We ruled out Croix Vista after looking at that long stone stairway to the pool, which I guess you would have to also use to get to the downstairs bedrooms.
We couldnt use Monte Bay because of the queen bedrooms and were set to do Villa Rendevous next door, but it wasnt available for our dates. The bedrooms there all all equal.
Our first choice had been Sibella, but my DH thought that the downstairs BRs would have no view, and he was right. Then we found out about"THE BEAST"( sorry 2Cat). Thank God we didnt rent that one.
We are really partial to the Northshore views and visited Great Escape 2 years ago when we got lost finding Mango Bay. Great Escape used to be Highview, and we stayed just below it at Villa Valentine, which is no longer rented. Great Escape was nice and the views were to die for, but it was a little "bland" inside for the money. Very modern decor--almost like a large condo on the mountain. Think Peace and Plenty might be nicer for the money, but it has no jacuzzi.
Good luck in your search.
