TraumaQueen & St. John Newbie, The AW100 was great until I took the first picture underwater. I noticed tiny bubbles coming out of the camera everytime I took a picture. The second day the screen just went black and it was done. When taking it back to the camera shop that I bought it from they said it was the first one brought back with a problem. They sent it back for me. Now my sister (CindyGad) has the canon D10 and the panasonic underwater and I know she said the CanonD10 was better than the panasonic but They were in St. John a few weeks before we arrived and used them both alot. Something went wrong with both of her cameras and she had to send them both back after this trip also. We really did take good care of the cameras!! Just had bad luck I guess. I am hoping that the next trip to St. John that it will work without any problems.

Loved all the pictures posted and especially that first video of the octopus! Amazing & wonderfully-made. All these years I've spend snorkeling the water of St. John and I still have never seen an octopus (or a seahorse!). But when I first started watching the video, I didn't know what I was looking at so I bet I HAVE seen an octopus but just didn't focus right or wait long enough for it to move!

What kind of spider was that crawling out of the hole? Was it a tarantula? Yuk, yuk, yuk. My d-i-l & I were in St. John together once when she drove to the ferry dock to pick up my son. It was really dark & she saw something skitter on the windshield right by her face; she grabbed something that was in the car & hit it. It splattered blood not only all over the windshield but all over her! We still scream & shiver over that story. So glad she got it before it got her though!

St. John Lover- Thank you! I have seen a few octopus but probably missed many. The way they change colors, they are very hard to spot! I used to see one between Maho and little Maho. As for a seahorse, I would love to see one too! I have read that people have seen them snorkeling Mary's Creek. I believe that was a tarantula. Yuk is right! :)
