Happy Hour Research

Post by Sumerwaters »

I am compiling a list of Happy Hour specials on St John. The noseeums come out on the beach around 4pm and by that time I am ready for a snack and drink.
Tell me about any Happy Hour specials you have found.
(yes, I know about Woodys) I love places that have appetizer and drink specials.

La Plancha Del Mar. Pitcher of their awesome sangria is $5 during HH and all the apps are $5 too if memory serves (from May/June). The apps are incredible and you can easily make a meal of them (which we saw many people doing). Can enjoy at the bar or at your table. The bartenders are great though so it's fun to sit at the bar and chat with them.

The Beach Bar is also fun!

Spyglass at wharfside. $3 rum drinks and 2/$5 beef sliders and fish tacos. Really yummy food. We had never been before and went twice this past trip cause the food was so good. Great servers/bartenders too.

Agree with Spyglass as well. the coca cola wings are really good. Though the atmosphere used to be better when it was the Balcony and the bar overlooked Cruz Bay. Now it overlooks the back of the adjacent building. But just turn your head left and you will see the water

Here are some of my favs
The Lime Inn has 2 for 1 frozen drinks from 3 till 5ish. Great Bushwackers. This is the best!
JJ's Texas Toast had $5 apps a while back-don't know if they still do.
Cactus on the Blue has reduced drink prices.
I'll think of more...

Iguana Grill is new, and across the street from Woody's. $1 Bud and Bud light, $2 well drinks. And it is cooler than Woody's (the actual temperature, not the "scene").

You sit perched up above Woody's and can watch the scene from there.

I forgot about iguana grill, that was another good place to go. We had a great waitress who made sure we knew the specials and about the happy hr prices, almost think it went until 7??? She even came back just before the end of HH and reminded us of the time so we could get more beers

Thanks for the ideas. I see many things on this list I will have to try.
I prefer not to have an itinery on my STJ vacations but I think having a Happy Hour list is a reasonable exception, but anything beyond that would be too stressful.
Now, if I could just get a government grant to pay for my Happy Hour research......ha.
