Shade at Vie's beach?
We will be visiting with an 20 month old and may be looking for shade, especially in the afternoon- I am thinking that Vie's beach might be shady in the afternoon because of its location- we have been to Vie's but never her beach- does anyone know? Our house is at Hart Bay and my memory is that will be sunny in the afternoon as will the famous North Shore beaches. Thanks.
Vie's beach faces south, which means during the winter month's it will be hard to find shade. there is one cocunut tree we sit under and I believe there is a shade tree near the entrance. We've found relief from the summer sun in some of the bushes along the shore.
In short, it's not easy to find shade at Vie's. (Except up by the shack)

Yep, we just spent a week out there. You'll get more shade early morning, and you know your youngster will be up then!
I'm a big fan of the pop-up sun shades for kids. But, I promise Mom & Dad will get hot too in the afternoon.
Haulover Bay has more shade. There is also a spot further down the East End road that has some shade in the AM. It's essentially the east end of Hansen Bay where the road goes near the water.
Personally, my favorite beaches for youngsters are the right sides of Maho and Hawksnest followed by Leinster (need a kid back pack) because of the very gradual soft sandy entry. The right side of Francis Bay is good in spots and is quiet for naps.
Cheers, RickG
