Underwater Camera - Gopro HD
Underwater Camera - Gopro HD
Just returned from St John on Sunday morning. Boy, It's harsh to be back in reality. (Full TR still to come)
I happen to have a gopro HD camera, the POV skiing surfing etc sports camera. Decided to take it along. With one modification. I added an aftermarket kit called blurfix to an extra wrist housing. (Gopro's curved lens of the OEM waterproof housing is blurry underwater - gofigue). With the addition of this kit I was able to take sharp underwater photos and video with my Gopro. You can also add underwater color correction filters for deep water dives as well. We didn't need it for snorkelling. It also doesn't effect the integrity of the waterproof housing. Which is pretty bomb proof to begin with.
I'm still processing the HD video, but here are some still photos from around the island taken while snorkelling. With a little color correction and love from aperature. It certainly has it's sweet spot. Within 10 feet is awesome. the lens is fixed wide. So no zooming. There is some vignetting of the flat lens in the corners, but easily cropped out.
