Affordable Villa Near Water?

Post by Dome526 »

Thanks to Steve's reply, I am turning to the collective wisdom of this group. We are going to St John 11/5-19/2112. We are doing a champagne trip on a beer budget, as we have 3 in college at the same time. The first week, we are staying at Cinnamon Bay Campground. The second week, we would like to find a place very close to the water, for about $180/night or less. Paper Moon has a hot tub, and reports the availability of the 2 person kayak. (reports note the "Kayak" may not be very worthy of water?) Do you have any suggestions of a Villa/rental near or on the water? Prefer not to be on top of people...

During one of my searches I came across Villa Mollo. http://www.villamollo.net/index.htm

Past Coral Bay, near the water, 3bd/2ba. From their site it looks like $1350/week during your time frame. Never stayed there and just had a brief conversation with the owner maybe 3-4 years ago. I don't know anything more about it, but it came to mind when I saw your post.

Sorry but Villa Mollo would not make my list but I guess it depends what you are looking for - it is near a pond (I guess that is water right :) ) but not near the ocean.

Pia it's so great to get the real scoop! When I spoke with the owner (again, long time ago) I asked about the beach and I do remember him saying "I love my beach." And here's the picture from the Villa Mollo web site:

I suppose I neglected to ask if the beach was on a pond... Thanks for the straight scoop! I guess the price should have been a clue, yes?
