Cinnamon Bay Campground Cottage to Paper Moon 25th Anniv

Post by Dome526 »

First post on this forum....for our 25th anniv. We have 3 kids in college, and we thought a good way to make a 2 week trip affordable was to stay at Cinnamon Bay Campground for a week, and then go to Paper Moon on Johnson Bay. We are going to stay in Cottage 10- any sense as to which room is "best"? We are not looking to rent a car the entire time, and thought a few days would make sense.

Agreed. Cottage 10 would be awesome. But, I'm not clear on one thing. Are all five of you going to be in that cottage, because that's going to make for very tough living accommodations? The beds are all singles, and there are four in the cottage.

Also, regarding the car... I don't really see any way of staying out at Johnson Bay without a car, so I'm assuming you intend to rent a car for that portion of your trip. But, in addition, you should seriously consider a car for the Cinnamon Bay portion of your trip. If you decide to leave the campground on any of those days, and you have to pay taxi fares for all five of you, you'll easily rack up the cost of a rental car. I know that car rental on STJ seems very expensive (and it is) but it's sort of a necessary expense in my experience.

Congratulations on your anniversary!

I think any of the 10s would be lovely, and I think they all come automatically with a fridge. You should ask about that. Maybe the anniversary celebration would be more private if the kids got another unit, like maybe 8 or 9.
And I, too would re-think the car rental, maybe hoof it or take a taxi for three days on arrival, and then getting the car for the remainder of your trip.

25th Anniv..... no kids in Cottage 10!

Post by Dome526 »

Rest assured.... there will not be any of the 4 kids joining us on our anniv. trip!
1. Hoping to determine which room is preferred- A, B, C or D.
2. Figured would rent a car for some of the trip, not all 2 weeks. I understand car rentals are very expensive on St John. We are staying at Cinnamon Bay to make this trip more affordable, since we have 3 kids in college at the same time.
