I bet the people who live and work in the VI just loooove guys like this, looking to run away, live on the beach in a tent and 'hide' until they can find work. (And isn't it still slow season?)
I love that he starts with "the challenges we could face will be extreme" and ends with "I just want a drama free experience."
Good luck pal.

"but you just can't live somewhere without being able to pay the bills."
Apparently you can....on the beach.
The entire post reminds me of the dramatic scenarios my cousins and I would construct when planning "expeditions" as children. There will be danger! Our water may run out! We must stick together!
I think Russ and Jeff need to track down this person and do an interview.

Craigslist...
No,it's not me,but it sounds like fun!I did the camping thing at Cinnamon back in May and loved it!Sturno for heat,and a can of Campbell's Chunky Soup and dinner is served!
All at a cost of $32.00 a night.{plus $2 for the soup.}
HELLO FROM MICHIGAN...
Being a cynic something for everyone to think about. Why don't we see more of these type of individuals camping on the beaches? My theory just from impressions from different posts over the last four years. Is that the local law enforcement is very diligent about ensuring vagrants (for lack of a better term) are not allowed on the Virgin Islands.
The rationale I could see being utilized is that this keeps break-in down on the empty villa's on the islands.
Oh and by the way I'm a conservative (I guess more in the middle) and more on the full disclosure I have camped in parks and under bridges in my youth over in Europe

When we were on STJ in January we did see two mid twenty year old guys living on the beach at Honeymoon. They kept their toothbrushes and soap up in the bushes and were washing their clothes on the rocks. They were really rude on top of it saying something that upset a couple of young girls on the beach. Let's hope they have moved on.
I hope he goes to STX too- so many more places to hide

I flagged his post as illegal, because it's illegal to "live" on the beach in the VI. You can only camp with permits for temporary periods.
That's all we need in the VI - hundreds of homeless people living on the beach. I don't think that craigslist category gets many readers, so hopefully it'll get very little notice. Just hope he didn't post it anywhere else!
