Bayhouse?

Post by CreativeName »

Hello,

We are heading to St. John in late April. It will be myself, my wife, and our 5 year old. What matters is that we have two bedrooms in the same house (on the same level not required), we HAVE to have a pool, and we would like a "close" water view if possible. The budget is around $2,000 for the week. Location on the island itself is not as important. We stayed in Chocolate Hole last time so we are considering Coral Bay but it is not required.

We have been looking at Bayhouse but I do not know anything about it, the pics and price seem to fit with the above but I am looking for an opinion of someone who has stayed there as well as any other suggestions.

Thanks a lot.

hey there! Do a search for "bayhouse" and you will see some posts by me and Rick G.....We stayed there a couple of years ago with our 2 kids....I think they were 4 and 6 at the time. Perfect for families! Great huge porch(es)...laundry there...nice pool and deck (and it's not tooooo close to the house for fear of little ones adventuring out by themselves). Great water views....you can even walk down to aqua bistro or the store at the bottom of the hill. Close to north shore beaches too! No AC in the upper level...but tons of sliding glass doors. A/C in the bedrooms. Older kitchen.

Great house...we had a great time!

I've heard good things about Bay House but haven't stayed there myself. We stayed up the hill from there at Rhumb Runners. (Available on VRBO.) 2 bedrooms (interior access) on the 2nd floor, each with AC and attached bath; Main floor has the kitchen, FR, dining area, half bath, deck and pool. Nice pool, amazing views. It's higher up than Bay House and the road is steep but paved all the way (and we had fun driving it.) Even up high we could hear the nightlife a bit from Aqua Bistro, but never too loud or too late. The kitchen has been updated since we stayed there and looks nice. Owners live on STT and are very nice.

We loved the location so I'd consider staying at Bay House too.

Have fun!

We stayed @ Bay House in 2010 and loved it! It was our first experience staying in a villa, as we'd previously stayed @ Gallows. Bay House had a lot of bang for the buck and it was every bit as nice as the units we'd stayed in @ Gallows- and of course, quite a bit more room. It was very convenient to the little shopping area there- we'd walked up & down the hill many times.

We are going back to STJ in March and looked into staying @ Bay House again, but were told the owners are using it the week we are going - so we are trying Moonsong on the other side of the island instead :-)

If you have any specific questions - please ask!
Peace,

Lisa

Stayed there this past April and will be returning there in a few weeks. Definately a great value for what you get. Coral Bay is our favorite part of the island now! We had previously stayed in the Chocolate Hole area the past 4 years and one trip to Coral and we are hooked. As previous posters commented the villa is exactly what you are looking for. Pool, views and deck area are very comfortable and I will say that the bed that we utilized was one of the more comfortable beds we have slept on compared to other villas. All in all I think you would be pleased with the Bayhouse.
Have fun planning your trip.
