Trip Report - Day 4
Day 1: http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/f ... hp?t=21260
Day 2: http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/f ... hp?t=21261
Day 3: http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/f ... hp?t=21282
And here we are at Day 4.
It poured rain HARD throughout the night. YAY for the cistern! I woke up at 6:30am
and had my Kiss of the Jumbie coffee and my peanut butter granola bar while my husband slept.
It was a little rainy / windy, so we decided to head to town for gas and to refill our gallon jugs of water at the Lumberyard....just in case Emily decided to become something more than a tropical storm.
In our previous trips to STJ, we've never ventured over to the VINP HQ building. Because of the icky weather, I decided now would be as good of a time as any. We mosied around in there for a little while, and picked up random literature to read later. We considered the Reef Bay Hike, but didn't want to tackle it in the one pair of shoes (flops) we brought.

Afterwards, we enjoyed a DELISH breakfast at Deli Grotto. My husband had the most amazing bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. Do they make those in-house (the croissants?)??? DROOL!!! I just had the breakfast potatoes since I had eaten my granola bar earlier.

Of course my husband got more tamarind balls while at DG....
Next, we headed to the Marketplace for groceries. WORST magazine selection ever. Although I'm not sure what I expected....I should have known this wasn't Barnes and Noble. Silly me.
Anyway, I made do and picked up a few of the slim pickins, the newspaper, and some doritos, and we hit the ATM for some cash.
Multiple guys doing weed-wacking with machetes (
) on the way back to the cottage.
Ocean was white capping today. Emily is officially a tropical storm, and luckily, it's heading south of us for the most part.
We decided it was a Maho sort of day, so we headed there from 11:30 - 4:30. We saw an octopus (highlight of the day since the water was cloudy from the rain and overcast day). I enjoyed reading the two newspapers I picked up (this became a daily, or almost daily ritual for me - getting and reading the local newspaper).
It was a little windy and it drizzled off and on, and it felt cooler today.
After Maho, we hit up the smoothie truck. I enjoyed Dessert in a Cup (as always), and my husband enjoyed an Oreo smoothie. (Both WITH rum, of course, but mine tasted like it had a WEE bit more than his...lucky me!
)
Back at the cottage, we showered and relaxed and enjoyed turkey dogs and baked beans for dinner. (So strange that we eat this in STJ since we really don't back home....)
I read my St. John magazine, and we were in bed at 10pm!
Today was a lazy, non-picture taking kind of day...but a great day, as is every day on-island!
