Trip Report Day 14 w/ Coral and Denny

Post by awardb »

For our 14th actual full day on STJ, we connected with Coden (Coral and Denny) and we all decided to spend the day at Honeymoon Beach. We picked them up in the AM, and off we went. After parking at Caneel and the trek to Honeymoon, we set up under the sea grape trees in the middle of the beach. It was a wonderful day, and we just relaxed and snorkeled, watching the boats full of snorkelers come and go. Sylvia and I snorkeled clear down around to point to Salomon Beach, taking lots of pictures on the way down and back, as you'll see below.

We were rewarded with some great shots of a stingray on the return trip. There are also some nice pics of the coral we saw while snorkeling.

Clouds and rain interrupted our day at the beach at about 1:30 - 2 PM or so, and we decided to call it a day. Since we had so much of the afternoon left, we all went up to our villa at Cloud 9, and spent time swimming in the pool and admiring the view of STT.
I forgot to mention that we were drinking this delicious drink, made by Coral, and it contained some kind of rum and pomegranate juice among other fixin's, so we were feeling no pain all day long! It was delightful!

We decided to all go to dinner together, and we went back to High Tide, mainly based on our description of the wonderful meal and service we'd experienced the week before while there with Msgcolleen and hubby.

The meal was wonderful! I think Coral got the lobster tail (huge!) and I think Denny got the tuna dinner. Sylvia got this alfredo pasta/lobster dish, and she loved it.

Check the couples pictures of each of us in the link below, along with the pictures of the entire day (mostly underwater!)

We took them back to their villa at the end of the evening and bade goodbye to them, as they were leaving the next day to return home. It was a great day for both couples, one we'll remember with fond memories.

Enjoy the pics!

What a great day and super pics! I was having trouble seeing the pics at first but took the [img] code off the end of your link and voila! Cool pictures!!
I can't remember if I asked what kind of underwater camera you have but I want one! I need to break down and invest in a good underwater camera. I'm sick of the disposables that never turn out good. :x

So happy you all made it back to Honeymoon together! And C9! And Hightide! Perfect day!

BTW~Can you just stay there and give us daily reports and pics?
I can't remember when you are finally leaving . . . hopefully not soon! 8)
I've got 2 tickets to paradise~Pack your bags we'll leave tonight!

It was a Fantastic Day!!! Ward and Sylvia are so nice, and we certainly hope to meet up with them again!

Glad you liked the pomegranate drink - it was kick butt. :D

Cloud 9 - man, we still can't get over the view of that place. The view and the whole set up - we could have stayed days there and one day hopefully we will.

FYI - re-entry has been brutal this trip. I'm useless.

Thanks, all for the kudos! Thanks to Coral for fixing my pictures link!

I'm *extremely* pleased with our new Underwater camera! Best of all, it's very small, only twice as thick as our other "shirt-pocket" Canon dry-land-only camera, so from now on, we'll only bring one small camera.

It's the Panasonic DMC-TS3. It's an all-purpose camera as mentioned above. Good down to 40 feet. I'm very happy with the pictures, and we use the optical zoom while underwater at times for better close ups.

The rest of the quality is the magic of Picasa, the free photo-editing software from Google. Until you've used it, you can't imagine how well the "I'm feeling lucky" button works! MAGIC!

If any forumites need more details/info on the camera, let me know. After 2+ weeks of using it daily, I'm pretty familiar with it's pros and cons.
