Day 3 – Can life get any better?
Day 3 – Can life get any better?
Day 3 – Can life get any better?
Well, yes, because today is meet the August Peeps at the BB…woo-hoo!!! : )
Today we picked up Colleen & Kyle ( they are such a wonderful couple!!) around 9 am and went to Haulover South, snorkeled and had mostly clear water. For myself I saw rays, and then little fish, but there was a huge reef and I saw lots of nice purple fans. I went quite far out and my legs got a good work out. Ha!
Colleen and I walked over to Haulover North. There is no way that either of us would ever get into that water. The waves were crashing like mad. Very scary!
We packed up and went to Skinny Legs for lunch. Colleen and I got the blue cheese burger, Kyle got the cheese burger and Den got a mahi-mahi sandwich. We were all very satisfied with our meals and with our server.
Left there and made another run into Sam & Jacks, Starfish, and Starfish liquor store. I think that Den and I are set for many days to come. No more shopping is needed, we’ve bought it all. Ha!
Den & I cleaned up and ran up to watch the Beach Bar Wars…it is different bartenders from STJ and the surrounding islands competing against one another, all the while drinking big glasses of beer. What a hoot. I have no idea who won.
Then we walked over to Mongoose Junction and Den had a beer and I had a coconut rum, oj and cranberry juice.
We walked over to Rhumblines (an Asian infused restaurant) to have dinner but they were closed for a private wedding party dinner. So we decided we would go to The Fish Trap as it is not too far from our apartment. But someone (me) took a wrong turn and we walked waaaay up and then waaaay down by the car ferry place…took us 45 mins to get to The Fish Trap - We almost died having to climb the roads that are almost at 180 degree incline, I kid you not! . They thankfully sat us in the a/c part of the restaurant and treated us like visiting royalty! I think we drank a gallon of water while sitting there. I had a nut crusted covinia fish and Den had a seared tuna. Both were outstanding. We also split conch fritters for an appetizer and split a cob salad before our meal, and then split a hot coconut cake drizzled with a caramel sauce and served with whipped cream. Do you think we were hungry? We never, ever eat that amount of food. Now, we did each bring home ½ of our entrée’s but still, tons of food. We’ll be eating in tomorrow night. LOL We also got to watch the NYY & Red Sox play b-ball, which made me happy!!
That is it for Day 3 – it has been a splendid day…couldn’t ask for anything better. ; )

The only word I can think of is JEALOUS!!!
We love the Fish Trap and Hollover. Our favorite is to split the whole fried snapper! Delish!!! I feel you on the walk though!
I know just from our walk up the hill to the Dolphin Market and around for groceries and stuff that a detoure like that in the heat would have killed us. (flatlanders)
Tell every one hi for us!
