STJ Under The Surface
STJ Under The Surface
Thanks to Cptnkirk for giving me the impetus to post these, after his excellent collection went up a few days ago. Again, if you read the other thread, these were taken over a 3 year period on (underwater) STJ with the now-infamous $69 Vivitar camera. As I noted before, last year the camera leaked, and we're replacing it this year with a new TS3 Panasonic, upon which I'll report when we return, along with more picture posts from that camera.
You can click on Slideshow on the upper left on this page with a sampling of the pics taken with that camera AND edited with Picasa to achieve this quality....

You'll have to look closely to see the lobster in the one pic!

Nice pics to a fellow forum peep from the Buckeye state. Looks like they have replaced the vivatar 6200 with the 8400 more MP so you should be able to get even better cropping results. Looks to be more competition for this camera now. Noticed Kodak has a 12 MP for $69 could crop the heck out of a pic and not loose much quality. I do a lot of cropping from normal focus cause ya know how fast the pics degrade when you use the digital zoom on that camera. I will keep using this little guy until it springs a leak. So far been lucky, figure it has at least 50 hrs of water time on it. I like the fact if it springs a leak I didn't just ruin an expensive camera.
What the heck, Here's my 2 Cents

loving this thread with all the underwater photos!! making me very excited for our trip in a couple months! i love to take pics underwater but have never tried any photoshop or any other type of "clean up" of pics so I really can't wait to give it a try! In the mean time , you all are giving me a much needed fix for my underwater addiction!!

Coden - I know what you mean - I felt cooler on this hot day just by uploading those photos - made me feel like I was underwater and cooler.....with turquoise-green water washing over me....
Capn - what part of the Buckeye State? Columbus, here.
BTW, LOVED your description of the water as "gin clear"! Doesn't get any more to the point than that...
