Economical trip any ideas

Post by nancyr84 »

We just got back from St John a few weeks ago but the wheels are turning on how to get back!! We are already booked for Eleuthera next May( our second favorite) but was trying to figure out if an economical fall trip next year might be possible.I have looked at several options for a under $1500 week rental and came up with quite a few Villas and Grande bay looked interesting. We usually like very secluded but being able to walk to town might be nice. Any ideas?

Here are our econo tips:

- Use frequent flyer miles for travel
- Book a longer stay and negotiate a discount on lodging
- Pack/ship some groceries, especially pricier items (coffee, cereal)
- Stay within walking distance of Cruz Bay (Battery Hill, Cruz Views)
- Only rent a car on days you need one
- Eat breakfast in
- Eat lunch in or pack one for the beach
- Alternate dinners with happy hour appetizers

Take a peak at Sunset Ridge Villas. Lots of room and spectacular views.

It is possible to walk into town but the walk home uphill can be daunting. If you do go, PM me and I will give you directions for a back path that is shorter and avoids Jacobs Ladder.

Happy hunting.

We stayed at Lavender Hill last month during our solo 25th anniversary trip. This was our first time staying within walking distance of Cruz Bay and it's gonna take a lot of convincing from others that are usually in our group to turn us back into "villa people". Great rates, great accomodations, great on site manager and the convenience to town can't be beat!

We stayed at Surf Sound and LOVED it. It's under 1,000 a week, AC in the bedroom, very clean and nice, and you will have no neighbors except a few donkeys! It is very secluded and has an insane driveway so you will need a Jeep! http://www.vrbo.com/265005
Sadly, I am tickerless :(

I know you said you wanted to stay in Cruz bay but I wanted to add another option.Check out Sailview in Coral bay. The price for the time you want is only 775 for week.

We have stayed here two times and would again if we wanted to budget. It is supper clean and we used the prep kitchen to cook a few simple meals. It is reasonable enough you can rent a jeep and still be under cost of a few of the other places mention.
