Hot Mess Trip Report- Day 3

Post by Xislandgirl »

We wake up to clouds again, but the skies look promising and we have plans for the day.
Maho with a whole bunch of people!
We eat some breakfast, make some beach sandwiches, load up the cooler and head to the beach with our crappy beach chairs…but there is a happy ending to come later.

We set up on the beach and after a few minutes, Rick comes down the beach to say hello and we pack up and head further down the beach to join him and Christine.

Shortly after, the sun arrives as does the Coral Bay crew, followed by Beth (Betty), her husband Jim, and their beautiful daughter, Katy.
This also brings joy to our backs…Beth and Jim have graciously brought us 2 wonderful beach chairs to borrow for the remainder of our trip! Beach Chairs are important to me. I like to relax on the beach for a while and I want a comfortable chair. The chairs at Harborview are old. They recline at will and are held together with long screws that scratch the hell out of you when the at-will reclining happens.
Thanks again for the chairs, Beth and Jim!

We spend a large portion of the day floating, lounging, drinking ( thanks to Rick and his rolling cooler) and laughing. It was a good day.

We all have had our share of sun and sand and say our goodbyes.

I have no recollection what we did later in the afternoon, I think we stopped at the store but I really can’t remember, I was pretty relaxed and happy.

Chip and I decided on an early dinner at Banana Deck. We love the salads there. Caesar and Greek, both with blackened mahi.

We turned in early, tomorrow was boat day!

Wait!!! No Hot Mess today? There is always tomorrow!

I'm right there with her about the beach chairs, for exactly the same reason, I cherish a relaxing day at the beach and nothing worse then an uncomfortable chair,

Looks like a very relaxing Maho day. I used to dislike Maho and now it is one of my favorite beaches.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

X-
I sincerely have NO idea how we could have missed you all. We were at Maho almost everyday, even spent most of the dinghy day there, as our newbie friends staying at The Westin hadn't been there yet. We just couldn't believe how many turtles there were!
Again, SO SORRY to have missed out on the fun with yous guys.
Hopefully next trip I can catch up with you all on the beach!
Smiles-
Jimmy

LMAO! I agree with Bev...it was a "moist" day that day. It was so awesome just chillin' with everyone there!
