St. John Spice- Texas edition- Kenny Chesney/Zach Brown Band

Post by SOonthebeach »

Seriously off topic here, but several DFW forumites got together this past weekend to inaugurate the "St. John Spice- Texas Edition" tailgate before the Kenny Chesney/Zach Brown concert at Cowboys Stadium.

What a great time! at the tailgate were: rpplano, pianogirl, msgcolleen and hubby, Kyle, texasmermaid and hubby, Kevin, BeAsUR and hubby, Marc, tinajohnson, noshoesnoshirt, myself and hubby Jim, and a few other friends.

Thanks to rpplano for the great banner idea and to Colleen for printing the awesome banner and pic of Kenny for our tailgate! Also thanks to Ruth for letting us "borrow" your logo to spread some Spice love in Texas :D

Some good munchies, great music and PLENTY of painkillers made for a great start to a fantastic show!

Starting the line up was Uncle Kracker- we were too busy tailgating to see much of his set but caught one song. Then, BIlly Currington (people ARE crazy). Next up was Zach Brown Band- man, did they put on a great show! Last, the man of the night- Kenny! Fantastic as ever, although there were a few frustrating moments for him. Near the end of the show (before Billy Currington came back out for a song with KC), Kenny noticed the giant screens were not on- he was visibly worked up about it and left the stage for several minutes- were were guessing that someone's *&* was getting chewed  When he came back- boom- screens were working! I think he wanted to make sure his fans all over the stadium could have a great view with those awesome giant screens.

At another point in the show, a few girls jumped up on the stage and rushed towards him. He looked REALLY ticked off, and looked at them like they were nuts. They just kind of danced around for a minute before security ran out, grabbed them, and pulled them offstage. He's NOT a fan of people jumping up on stage, I can tell!

Below, a few of my 100+ pics... I just can't stop  We were in Sandbar with texasmermaid and hubby, so we got some good close ups.

Near the end is a shot of KC with Zach and Mishka while they sang a reggae mash-up. The whole last 45 minutes to an hour of the show was just a jam fest with all different kinds of music and 2 full bands out- ZBB's and KC's. One of my favorite moments was KC and ZBB singing "Knee Deep" a new ZBB song, with the backing of both of their full bands. I have some video of that and need to figure out how to share- any tips?

Awesome time!!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I love KC, of course, but I really, really love the ZBB!! Must have been super fun! Great pics! I, too, regret not getting tickets for the show near me a few weeks ago! Kick self, kick self!
