Wow that is sooo scary. I don't have a smart phone, but lots of friends with young children and grandchildren do. I am going to share this. It's really becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of all the technology it's ramifications.

Yes this is a legitimate concern - but why do they always make the "Internet" so bad and dangerous, and make it seem like the whole world is full of psychopaths looking for children? I think the story line is perverse - there is and has been plenty of news about this kind of technology that doesn't come from the angle of scaring the crap of a parents, etc.

My daughter (14) came home from school one afternoon from school last week...apparently one of the teachers had heard about this and had passed word thru the school. We changed her settings on her IPOD as she uses it for a camera and posts pics to FB..so its not only the Phones, Ipods as well..(just a note)...I know alot of kids have the Ipods and post pics as kids do..check their settings..better safe than sorry...

Anthony you're right. However I think the shock gets more people's attention, so maybe that's a good thing too, making more people aware. I don't think the world is full of psychos looking for kids. On the other hand, if I share information I want it to be intentional. I don't want to share information by accident.
