Hiring Taxi on STJ for the day?

Hello forum peeps! Haven't been on in forever! Last trip to STJ was June 2009! We were scheduled to go this coming June and had to postpone due to economy. The plan was to go in November...then Drama Girl (for those that might remember) announced she had to attend the wedding/wedding cruise celebration of her best friend to the Southern Caribbean which just happens to be in November **** me!

Since we didn't want her traveling to San Juan alone, I was nominated to go with her...and pay for it too! So cool...I'm easy...GIRLS TRIP!

Anywho, one of our stops is STT. First words out of our mouths were "STJ for the day!" I NEED my fix...even if for just the day! It would crush us not to ferry over.

Since this STJ day trip thing is new to me (think sacrilege), I thought I might ask here to see if anyone can offer advise on if I can just hire a taxi for the day? And do I just ask at the dock in CB or is there someone that knows of someone who might agree to tote us around for the day? We want to go get sammies at the deli then head to Hawksnest or Honeymoon and finish off with a drive over to the smoothie truck for some nectar of the Gods!

Any thoughts? Pia? Ruth? Bueller?

FWIW, the last trip with a week on Jeannius and a week on STJ was spectacular!!! We will be back on island for vacay June of 2012. Are we there yet!!!

I don't know about cabs for a day. Have you thought about arranging for a rental jeep? Could probably get for $100 or so and have total freedom for your day. Although, sometimes the checking in and out at the rental facility can absorb some precious island time....

Hadn't thought about renting a Jeep. We usually use L&L and they meet you at the dock for pickup and drop off. Guess it's an option.

Will have to give it some more thought. I think I still would prefer someone to just schlep us around.
