Cocolobo Villa

Post by parrot eyes »

Hello All, Happy Friday, I was hoping for some advice, has anyone stayed at Cocolobo Villa ? and can give me an insight to this villa? also, how is renting from Caribbean villa agency? I've rented from others, but not them. Also, we are planning on a trip January of 2012, and would like a budget of 3-4K for the week for 2 couples. Any suggestions? As always, Thanks so muchf or the advice!

We stayed here in April 2003 (my review is posted in the villa review section) with our three children. Cocolobo has really great views, so quiet, peaceful and secluded but I don't think that the bedroom setup would be fair for two couples. You have to go outside (covered) for the Master Bedroom and outside (uncovered) for the other lower level bedrooms with shared bathroom, no balcony and lower ceilings. They are not comparable in my opinion. Any other questions, feel free to PM me.

We stayed at Cocolobo in 2005. I would not recommend it for two couples for the same reason - the bedrooms are not even close to equal.

Other positives: gorgeous views, quiet, few neighbors (at least in 2005, it was the last house on the road out to Reef Bay). Renting from Caribbean Villa was fine. I know they get some knocks on this Board, but we saw little difference from the times we rented from Vacation Vistas or Destination St. John.

Overwhelming negative (in my opinion): The wind (we were there in July). It was unrelenting, 20-30 mph, all the time, 24/7. We were able to sit out only on the side of the house away from the water.

There are so many other better villas for two couples, like Splendore and Bongo Bongo.

I rented from Caribbean Villas several years ago (not Cocolobo) and had no issues or complaints - I would rent through them again if they had a villa I was interested in and the rate (including their 5% fee) was right. I've also used Destination St. John, and found that they were very good.
