Walkie talkies
Walkie talkies
We have a large group traveling with us in May (20 people) and have been debating the easiest/most cost effective way to keep in touch while on the island. We are considering either getting a couple of those $20 pay as you go Cingular phones or some walkie talkies. I am partial to the walkie talkie idea ("Psshhhhhht... Stingray, this is Wild Donkey. Come in Stingray. We are heading to Woody's now. Over.")
I saw on another thread that some of you have had good success with the walkie talkies. Any words of advice when buying a set or two? I know nothing about them, so any info you can share would be great. Thanks!!

We took a couple of sets on our last trip with 3 couples and they definitely came in handy. They won't work if one couple is in Coral Bay trying to reach folks at the house on Chocolate Hole but when you are caravaning or have a group of stragglers sleeping in and joining you later, they do come in handy.
And plus let's face it ... they are fun to play with!
My hubby got ours but I think he found them at Costco.

They do work but don't expect them to go thru the hills if one is the north side and one on the south side your on your own. I've used them in the mountains ahnd if you are on the top they will go for ever. It's pretty much line of site If you look and there is a hill in your way your out of luck But they do work good from one car to the next
