Feedback on Blue Heaven, Rendevous Bay, sT. John

Post by lovethecape »

Hi,
We may make a quick and inexpensive trip to St. John with family (2 teens) this March or April. Does anyone have any input regarding this villa which is very reasonable and available. Is it in good condition? The view looks great. We don't need a pool. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. I've been to St. John twice and I assume it is about a 15 minute drive to Cruz Bay? Is it an easy drive to the villa? Any problems with bugs in the villa or pests?

About 10 minutes to Cruz Bay. Of course, you have to go over Jacob's ladder but the only tricky part is the last left turn..it's sharp and then a quick right turn into the driveway. There are a couple of villas on the same driveway and a bit bumpy,no 4wd required though.

As far as pests, just the occasional lizard (small ones). I HATE spiders, but didn't have any issues. To get to the bedrooms, you have to walk outside. There are two upstairs (main level) and one below. Not sure which website you are looking at but there is a good floor plan on vivactions.com.

Hope this helps!

Stayed at Blue Heaven 3 years ago, AWESOME view. Older villa but in good condition. I heard the road to the villa was just paved. There was only parking for 1 vehicle though. Bedrooms are accessed from outside and not from living area, two are beside each other and one is on lower floor below kitchen. I would stay here again. If you have any other question feel free to PM me.

We stayed there two years ago. Loved it. Great views. Loved the deck and hot tub. Didn't seem like a difficult drive. The two bedrooms upstairs are accesed from outside but it is almost like a hallway and the doors are very close together. Our kids stayed in these rooms and we were not uncomfortable. We stayed in the lower level. We would definitly stay again.

B.H.R. Villa

We have stayed there too. Had 2 other adult couples with us. The view is amazing. However, the villa is
on the older side. The largest bedroom is not real large but worked for us. We got to claim it because we paid more. IT also had the largest shower. The other two couples drew straws for their rooms...since the bottom bedroom was quite small with
a very small bathroom. But it all was good because we only spent time in them to shower and sleep. We are all day beach kind of folks. As far as critters,
we mostly encountered scorpions in the showers, just got them out in cups and put them outside. That quick
turn back to the left was a real challenge when it was raining. The parking spot (for 1 car) was interesting. Kitchen had everything we needed and then some...rented thru VIVA and they were very good to work with...don't know about now but we also received mid-week maid service included with rental.

Phil, thanks for the feedback. I'm getting a good understanding of the pros and cons of this villa (also did a search). I'm not too keen on scorpions in the shower. We were really lucky with our rental last year, less bugs (basically a few mosquitoes)than at our home in CT and the only scorpions we saw were dead and outside. They still freaked my teenage sons out!
