We're booked happy dance time!

Post by toni »

Yay, coming down in november for 10 days! We had thought about coming in july but the airfares are crazy then, and we'd really prefer to get away in the colder months but before high season rates kick in. Got better flights/ times for nov than we were seeing for July only one stop vs 2 or 3 and ability to fly on a Saturday. Still $570, but that's only $40 more than we paid last year. Now the hunt is on for the villa. I love the villa search; whoo hoo!

Congrats! It's probably a good thing you got tickets now before fuel prices sky rocket! I think November would be a great time to be on-island!

P.S. Love your little penguin!

Congratulations!

If it's any thing like last year, you'll be amazed at the villa availability.

If you see something you really like/want, go ahead and book it, but if you don't have too narrow of parameters in mind as to where you'll stay you might be pleasantly surprised at some of the deals you can score by holding off until late in the game to book.

We came down 2 years ago at Thanksgiving and was surprised at how quiet it was. We'll be coming a little earlier this year and will miss Thanksgiving, but I've started looking at villas and they're wide open at this point. I'm not sure if I have the state of mind to wait until 30 days out to book...though I realize I could get a bargain, but I think I'm going to make a list of places I like and just keep an eye on them. Since we'll be down for 9 nights might even do a split of 7 and 2, but the options are many at this point.

I just wanted to grab the airfare-would love to live near a city where a direct flight's available, but such is not the case and prices just kept going up up up and the number of stops kept increasing too.

In any event I'm still doing the happy dance!

Congrats Toni. Hoosiermommy and I will be on island after thanksgiving. 9 months is a long wait. Kind of like being pregnant.

I liked the penguin too!

It's just a gif file I found here:

Then I copied the code and pasted it in the message.

Awesome! I am so glad you were able to get a trip booked. Which airport did you end up flying out of? Enjoy the planning!

Barb-flying out of buffalo. I can understand people who drive many hrs to get cheaper rates; we've driven to Cleveland for flights, but I hate the thought of a long drive after vacation-I'd like to wiggle my nose and be in my driveway

I checked my flight prices and they've gone up $30/ticket. It's a gamble.

Hope to read a trip report from you when you get back!

We'll also be down for 10 days in November.

I don't think I've seen November as wide open as it is this year.
