What a great trip report! I loved reading it and the pictures were awesome (as usual). Thanks again for sharing! Definitely adding the Leinster shore snorkel to our upcoming trip!

As always, a wonderful trip report! I need a bib for all the drooling I'm doing over your photos and food porn. Thank you for increasing my knowledge of what I'm seeing when I snorkel.

Amazing trip report. Thanks for taking the time to share. I must admit I would get excited to read each installment.
Do you use a particular site for photo correction? Your pictures are so clear.

Great info on the Leinster shore snorkel, we have never snorkeled there before...well, maybe once a long time ago when we didn't really know what we were doing. Where did you enter in relation to the sand?

Thanks everyone. I love doing trip reports and reliving my trip!

Teresa, for the Leinster snorkel, when you are walking out to Waterlemon, you will come across a rocky beach about halfway between the start of the trail and the sandy beach at Leinster Bay. There are a couple of boat moorings off shore to help you ID it. We entered the water at the furthest side of the beach as you are looking at the water, then let the current carry us along the beach and to the point. Then we went out to the deeper water and swam back to the entry point.

Cindygad, I have photoshop to pull the blue out of the underwater pictures, but that doesn't help with clarity. That is just luck I think, especially underwater. The best snorkeling pictures come out in calm, shallow water with lots of sun. If I see something interesting underwater I take a whole bunch of pictures of it, and only save the ones that I think are the best. I started with over 3,000 pictures, and ended up with 234. It gave me something to do on the flight home. :D
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Becky,
Just to clarify one more time....the Leinster Shore snorkle may be the spot I consider MY FAVORITE. I have never really seen a "beach" there, we just find a tree to hang our stuff on and identify it by the "3 BUOYS" about 100 or 200 yards out. The area from the buoys in to shore and between them is where I snorkle. It is the best! I have always seen a spotted drum there, Eagle ray, nurse shark, it is a stunning little reef, but I never knew what to call it. A guy from the Westin told me about it.
Anyway, THANK YOU for your gorgeous photos. I love the underwater shots. Lovely report.

Great trip report as usual. You were very lucky to be able to get an unexpected trip in this winter, it's been awful. I was on St.John when you were there. I think I saw you, may be at Francis. I remember thinking that looks like Becky but she's not on Island right now. I wish I trusted my instinct and said hi.

Joppa, You didn't say hi to "Big Al" either and you missed out on a free drink and lunch.
We wre all over the island. North, south, east & west.
Had lunch at Skinny Legs, your side of the island.
We'll be there next year at the same time....Al

Becky, Your underwater pictures are exemplary! Do you take your pictures from the surface or dive down for the shots? If so the latter, do you wear weights to overcome your buoyancy or just maintain your position through downward stroking of your fins?
Life is an adventure.
Treasure each moment.
