vegetarian options?

Post by roadnottaken »

Does anyone have recommendations for lunch/dinner spots on the island to get good vegetarian food? We're staying near Coral Bay so things in that area would be great, but we'll also be exploring the rest of the island so, really, tips on anywhere to get a good veggie meal would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Sogos in Cruz bay does a great veggie platter. We took our vegetarian friends there last year and they liked it; great drinks too.

We've had excellent vegetarian meals at Rhumbline's, Zozo'a, Asolare, Waterfront Bistro, La Tapa. When we call for reservations, we let them know our food restrictions since one of us is also Gluten and dairy free and they always come up with great options even when there are no vegetarian options on the menu!

The above/mentioned joints are great!
My Sweet Amy particularly LOVES the "tofu scramble" at Donkey Diner in Coral Bay.
I have no idea what's in it, but she LOVES it.

If you are on the Cruz Bay side of the island, I highly recommend the "Rasta-urant" Forward to Your Roots. They are located near E & C Gas Station on the road that is between the basketball court and dumpster, up about a block or so on the right (brightly colored wooden 'shack'). They do some of the most amazing food! Open for lunch on week days. Don't miss their lentil balls, I could eat them all day long :)

Most places have vegetarian options or are willing to work with you, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding something to eat.
