Anyone ever stayed at Lifestyles Hacienda Vacation Club Resort in Puerto Plata?

Kids are flying out Tuesday a.m. for a week at an all-inclusive. Any suggestions for what not to miss?

We went to the Riu in Puerto Plata a few years back. It's not near the main hotel zone, but I'd advise staying on property. Unless you were SURE the excursion company was reputable. It's not the best area on Earth. One of those places where you have to suspend reality and just play dumb resort tourist.

PS: they allow smoking in the airport and they have a lot of European flights in and out...hence a lot of smoking in the airport. We had a looooooooooooooong delay there and know the airport and the location of every electrical outlet like the back of our collective hand

Thanks, Rob! I forwarded your info on. Their trip is a company reward for top sales. There are about 75 in their group from several states. I'm sure they are prepared for many "shiny" mornings!
