SEABORNE AIR ANNOUNCES EXPANSION TO SAN JUAN INTERNATIONAL
Christiansted, St. Croix - December 15th, 2010--Seaborne Airlines is proud to announce new daily service into San Juan International Airport (SJU) from St. Croix, St. Thomas and Vieques. Flights to San Juan International begin on January 12th, 2011 providing safe, friendly, and convenient "Feel good flying" service for the region's business and leisure travelers.
Seaborne's flight schedule has been designed to provide ample time to make most major airline connections at SJU. Early morning flights leave the Virgin Islands as early as 6:15 am to SJU, and return as late as 6:15 pm, with flights throughout the day, seven days a week.
Seaborne Airlines will continue to provide flights into San Juan's Isla Grande Airport, making the airline the only one serving two locations in San Juan. Corporate and business travelers can make the most of the expanded options now available in San Juan. Either San Juan airport brings you within 15 minutes of practically all of San Juan's biggest attractions and downtown areas.
According to Seaborne Airlines President and CEO Omer ErSelcuk, "Seaborne has always been dedicated to meeting the traveling needs of the VI and PR communities. On the 10th anniversary of Seaborne service in Puerto Rico - we felt the time was right to provide our guests with the route and airport, SJU, that they have been asking us to serve for years!"
Puerto Rico Economic Development Secretary Jose R. Perez-Riera stated "One of the strategies for the development of air access is to increase the flights offered between the Islands of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, which strengthens our position as a hub in the Caribbean. The introduction of Seaborne Airlines flights from the Luis Munoz Marin International Airport will help us advance our mission. Additionally, Mr. Jamie Lopez, the Principal Officer of Development of the Puerto Rico Department of Economic Development and Commerce made note that, "Air access to Vieques and Culebra is key for their economic development. Certainly the increase of Seaborne Airlines flights will bring a positive economic impact to the islands of Puerto Rico."
