Florida Keys
Florida Keys
Planning my first trip to Florida Keys kind of last minute. Hoping someone on the board has some suggestions. Are there areas of town(s) I should avoid (safety issues?)? I plan to spend one or two nights in Key Largo and two nights in Key West. Will plan to do lots of driving around in between.
Suggested places to stay and activities, do not miss places appreciated.
Photography will be a main activity for me.
Looking at B&B or Inn type place, something with some local flavor in the $89-$130/night range. I'll be traveling before the high season rates kick in.
Thanks!

We've been to the Keys alot and my favorite places to stay is in Marathon and Islamorada. I prefer the keys after MM80 or so. It really starts to open up. There was a great place we stayed called Pines and Palms...right on the water, really cute place.
Also, Key West is pretty cool. Just stay on the main track and you'll be fine. I never felt unsafe down there.

"Paradise...it's a state of mine"
Trip is shaping up. Will stay one night in Key Largo due to timing and 3 nights in Key West. Will fly into MIA and drive down. I understand the drive itself is part of the charm of the visit.
I am very interested in photography, so suggestions about places I might not stumble across for great photo composition are appreciated. I've read a few places that are suggested for sunset shots.
Has anyone done the biplane ride in Marathon? Sounds fun.
Won't be doing much water related activities this trip.
I enjoy architecture and old buildings. I'm expecting to find alot to keep me interested in this regard in Key West.
Thanks for your suggestions and advice.
