cheapest flights

I have never purchased plane tickets before & have a couple questions. Is it cheaper to fly out on a week day or weekend? Our dates are flexible so this may help us determine ou dates. Also, I live in southern Ohio, so will fly out of either Columbus or Cincinnati, any suggestions as to airlines? Thanks so much for your help!

If your dates are flexible use Orbitz - they let you search for several days to find cheapest fares - use their flexible days option - good luck!

The last few years I've found the cheapeast flights were on weekdays. This year we went from Tuesday to Tuesday. Just make sure that the villa you're looking at will allow you to arrive and leave on a weekday. Some villa owners/managers prefer Saturday to Saturday rentals to maximize their bookings. We go during the "off" season so haven't had alot of trouble with that.

I would look at a non stop from CVG to ATL and then the ATL-STT flight. Because it is not a hub, Columbus could be lower.

Delta will also give you 24 hours to cancel the reservation -- no harm, no foul -- if you use their web site. That give you an additional 24 hours to shop around.

In general, I think its always cheaper to fly during the week, as opposed to the weekend. The big caveat there is that there aren't always flights during the week - depending on the time of year, some direct routes only go at certain times during the week. So make sure there are flights available for when you want.

We are going from Thursday to Thursday in Feb and saved a huge amount on our flights.

I do the same once I find the lower fares on Orbitz - American will also let you "hold" tickets for 24 hours with no fee - good luck.

You are right. They do guarantee the price when you put it on hold.
