Andante By The Sea Trip Report Oct 23 thru Nov 1

Post by cool breeze »

Well after the year long wait to return to our beautiful jewel of the Caribbean it was now travel day which began @ 1:30AM (Cindy needs alot of time to get ready) to head into Logan Airport for a 5:45AM departure to Miami then onto STT for a 2:40PM arrival. Flights were great and both actually in terminal early which was great because we were able to connect with the 4PM Red Hook ferry. Once into Cruz Bay we were met by Nancy our villa greeter and Laurel from L & L Jeep, whom both were very pleasant. After some friendly dialogue it was off to Andante. There was much anticipation on how the drive up to the villa was going to be based on alot of the posts I head read from previous renters. "Piece of cake" I actually thought it was one of the better drives I had been on and alot less stressful than other villas we have stayed at.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_022.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_022.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Once I parked the jeep it was introduction time to Andante By The Sea.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_020.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_020.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The introduction did not disappoint this villa is well maintained and EVERYTHING worked! With all that most of these villas have to offer I found that very impressive being our third different villa there always seemed to be somthing that wouldn't work. Anyhow I will start with a few pictures of this wonderful home.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_009.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_009.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_008.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_008.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_010.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_010.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Now as with most villas the views are a big part of why we love them, well I can say that the views from this villa are nothing short of spectacular.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_012.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_012.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_011.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_011.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
And of course have to have some cruise ship shots.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_002.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_002.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_003.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_003.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Being on the southern side of the island we had high expectations for nice sunrises as well as sunsets, well no disappointments here either.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_031.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_031.jpg" border="0" alt="Spectacular Sunrise"></a>
The beautiful sun rise with Ditleff Point in the foreground was mesmerizing. We enjoyed our first cup of coffee, indulged into the spa and pool then it was off to some of our favorite spots. Started with a late morning visit to Deli Grotto some shopping at Mongoose then over to Woody's for our first Painkiller and I have to say the best onion rings I have ever had.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_023.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_023.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Can't leave out the "puffer"
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_024.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... 01_024.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
As you see by our delightful "smirks" the island time effect did not take long.

Very nice. Thanks for the photos. We stayed there about 4 years ago. The views down to Ram Head from the master BR in the AM were great. Looks like the start of a great vacation.
