Yeah, well, A few old friends stopped by, and then our son and his gal, and then a couple of more. You gotta understand, that's how it goes here. I really had good intentions... It's looking suspect as to whether we gonna make it. Sometimes getting out of the driveway is the hardest part...California Girl wrote:I haven't been following this thread, since I can't attend, but I'm totally looking forward to lots of pictures from you guys!! It looks like a great group is going to be there and I predict loads of fun!
JT, your comment about the "new man" wanting a couple of beers made me laugh!

Well, I have no pics, but I somehow pried BT&JT's butts out the door, into the car, down the road, over the river, through the gawd awful Northern Virginia traffic,(no wonder they lost the war-you can't get anywhere over there), and made it to the Mad Fox. The establishment was fancier then I had expected. (I had heard unsubstantiated rumors that they had indoor plumbing over on that side of the river.Well, I'm here to tell you that it's true). The food and beer were both great! Anyway I was thrilled to meet previously faceless names! And, there was a couple of special unannounced attendees from the Philly area, which was of course Bev & Crash. They were rather subdued, as they were watching their beloved Phillies lose the first round game to the Giants. Other then being Phillies fans they seemed to be very nice folks. It was great to meet Flip Flop, Gromit, Mr. Gromit, DC Photo and a so many others.Anyway, thank you,Rick G and No Tan Lines for hosting, and for everyone else that helped to organize the evening. A special thanks to a lurker named Dan Shultz who handed me a hand made gift of a very cool scroll cut wooden ornament as we were leaving. Oh,yeah, and thanks to BT for joining me,as she doesn't do the forum and thinks the whole thing as rather odd.

Ditto just about everything JT said! Mad Fox is such a great place! My husband Bill (the lurker) really enjoyed meeting everyone I have been talking about and lunching with and meeting for breakfast and so on and so on. Wish we could have stayed longer. I imagine that party went on all night! Let's do it again sometime. Cheers everyone!
I know there are some pictures out there....DCPHOTO was there
It was so great to meet everyone! I was so surprised to see Bev & Crash there. They are GREAT! JT was, of course, the highlight of my evening
And Betty, even if she thinks we are all nuts, was beyond lovely!
Thanks RickG & Notanlines for the organization and for everyone who turned out!
