Loria, it sounds like Spinny got a really nice send off. And it's nice that your son was a part of it. He's learning about the circle of life. Know that she is always with you.
Friends, they go away then they re-appear...I believe there is Magic here.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about Spinny! We are "cat people" in our house, so I know exactly how you are feeling and I send you a BIG {HUG}. You had such a nice little service for her and I love the way you picked the right spot in the garden and marked it with an infinity sign. :) That's way cool.... as I'm sure Spinny was! She will definitely rest in peace.

I, too, am a cat person, whether I want to be, or not, because everybody comes with baggage and BT came with cats. Over the 35 years we've been together she's had quite a few cats, or quite a few cats have had her. Anyway, I've grown more the a little fond of some of them and it hurts when they go.Karla Bonoff wrote a real tear jerker of a tribute/ good- by song to her cat, "Good By My Friend." Linda Ronstatt recorded it some years ago.
It can help with the healing to hear it, but bring the whole box of Kleenex.

I have tears running down my cheeks for you, so sad...yet heartwarming. I am beyond sorry for your loss but so warmed that you were there with her at the end. Realizing that you held and comforted your baby through the crossing is a such a gift. A gift and memory that will sustain you. There is no better love than that of a pet, it is beyond uncondtional.
Bless your heart. You and your husband obviously care deeply for each other. You will pull on each other through this tough time. I read the post about his Dad first.
Take care of yourself, xoxoxo to ya :)

I am soooo sooo sorry. I have been "THE cat lady" all my life. I have been through quite a few beloved pets and I still miss every single one of them.

As I sit here now, I have one at my feet and one on the desk watching :o)

I absolutely know how you feel and I'm so sorry. Cats really do know your feelings and they are the ones that will come and sit with you. They don't judge you and you can cry and they understand more then we think they do.

Sorry again that you have to go through all of this. Very very sad.

So, so sorry to hear about anyone suffering through this. We're dog people, animal lovers... We haven't lost one yet, and I can't imagine how it will hurt.
Wishing you peace....

Oh Lori I just saw this. I'm so sorry. I know how much we love our beloved pets. You can be proud and happy that you gave Spinny a wonderful life. I hope the kids are OK - losing a pet can be especially hard on them.

I'm so sorry loria.

I've been there a few times and it is just plain HORRIBLE. And devastating. And awful.

I'm so sorry for your loss

I'm so sorry for your loss. Having cats myself I know it's so devastating when they die. Do you have a picture of Spinny?
