Credit Where Credit is Due

Post by jimg20 »

As you probably know, we were planning to arrive at STT at about the same time as Earl. We, of course, did not go. Due to the reports of conditions and expected second albiet smaller storm, we cancelled our trip.

Delta Airlines gave us a full refund on our tickets.

Wyndham, the owner of Bluebeard's Beach Club on STT, also gave us a "full refund" in that they offered that we can take our week there or any other place we like before the end of the year.

The only other commitment that we had was to Amilia Car Rental, and they also let us off the hook.

These businesses did the right thing. It makes me want to use them again in the future.

Thank you Delta, Wyndham and Amilia!

I was supposed to fly out today, too. US Air allowed me to move my trip a week ahead. Bluebeards and Dollar also changed my reservation without any problems.

Incidentally, I checked my flight out of Charlotte, NC to STT and the flight is on it's way right now, so the airport must back open.

Not knocking Delta, but they are required to by their Contract of Carriage. Still nice to know, though!

I agree with you on this. There is a big difference, however, between, "let us help you out and send you a refund." And, "Alright, we'll give you you money back if you insist."

That's great Jim - now on to rescheduling! I think you made the right choice and I am so happy those involved did what was right by you.
