Is that sea urchin on the pasta course?

Yes it is! I ate a lot of it in my few days there - it was much more substantial and creamy then what I have had here from the Mediterranean. And I wasn't aware that this was a cold dish until I put the first forkful in mouth - it was a little shocking!

Wow! That's quite a place! The food is all plated so beautifully. It must be that Japanese simplicity shining through. :)

Wow. I would've visited the restaurant if it weren't in Aomori. I always fly into Tokyo and from there I go south, not north (I'm a southerner). If the restaurant were located in Tokyo, I probably couldn't afford it.

High quality sea urchin in Japan has a dense (not watery) rather fruity flavor, and firm & creamy at the same time. I truly love it.
